Fight obesity with STEAZ zero calorie green tea!

August 22, 2012 |

It’s my pleasure to introduce Steaz Zero Calorie Sparkling Green Tea  to you. What makes me proud this time, Steaz is produced in the USA! Steaz is a group of non-toxic, health-stimulating beverages, which, in my opinion, are marketed honestly, without embarrassing, dirty tricks. The beverage’s moderate sweetness comes with naturally derived extract of stevia plant. No chlorinated sugar – sucralose, no controversial aspartame, no acesulfame potassium chemicals. So here it is, with black cherry flavor.

The beverage is a combination of 6 nutrients (green segments) and 6 benign, human-friendly food additives (yellow segments). That’s how every beverage in America should be designed – without biochemically foreign substances (red segments)! It’s not a big surprise that nutritional value of the Steaz is still low, DDNF = 12/20 ~ 0.6: the beverage is designed to stimulate, not to feed you! But more importantly, you will take zero chemical risk of DDFI = 0/12 = 0 if you drink Steaz in moderation, without making it a water substitute in your diet.  The essential ingredients are as follows:

  • Green tea extract is a source of anti-oxidants which are known to produce multiply health benefits. However it’s recommended that tea extracts are taken between meals in order to avoid decreased iron absorption. Too much of a tea extract consumed may cause liver failure
  • Rebiana, is a trade name of a sweetener naturally derived from stevia extract. See also Stevia and Rebiana: Facts and Myths
  • Erythritol is almost non-caloric natural sugar alcohol sweetener, which doesn’t affect blood sugar, doesn’t cause tooth decay and doesn’t produce laxative effect
  • Vitamins of B group

You don’t see black cherries in the ingredients list, right? Yes, but you don’t see pictures of beautiful cherries on the packages and cans neither. Fair enough! The taste of cherry comes with the added natural flavor and color of purple carrots juice concentrate. So, what the manufacturer has to say? That’s what you can read on every can:

Steaz is good for the mind, body and soul. Delicious, bubbly, refreshing and a cup of green tea in every can. Steaz Zero Calorie Sparkling Green Tea has all the taste but with zero calories, zero sugar and zero carbs.

While I agree with the most of what they say, a little correction needed: Steaz is not zero carbs. In fact erythritol is a carbohydrate by definition. But this pure technical gaffe is not a misleading evil for consumers.

Bottom line. I keep saying: best zero calorie non-toxic natural drink is pure water. However, taking into account that Steaz Zero Calorie Green Tea contains no sugar and no questionable or toxic ingredients, you can add Steaz to your water intake. Because Steaz doesn’t affect blood sugar, people who concern about obesity, weight loss and diabetes may want to carefully try drinking Steaz instead of chemically stuffed Coke Zero or other wasteful popular drinks. Enjoy Steaz, hydrate yourself right!

I like this website, and I would like to ahead and give a suggestion. Please don’t mark HFCS as green. I have taken biology classes, and we had UCLA’s professors explaining how HFCS is harmful. It is only a doubled-up corn sugar, but the bad part is that, HFCS doesn’t suppress your stomach’s “hungry feelings”. They go through and trigger signals like fat modules, and they also get processed not as sugar, but as fat (which means detoxication is needed). Finally, please get rid of HFCS from your green list, and hopefully this site can get better! Thanks!

Stan, thank you very much for your informed comment! With all due respect to your knowledge and to your teachers at UCLA, I cannot re-categorize HFCS as a non-nutrient. No matter how emotional we are, HFCS is nothing else but a mixture of fructose (~55%) and glucose (~45%). The both carbohydrates are macro-NUTRIENTS abundant in the nature. That’s it! The only problem with HFCS is that its production was at some time in the past heavily subsidized by the government and so its consumption by American people by now exceeds all imaginable limits. At that level of consumption ANYTHING (even pure water!) may become toxic and health-damaging. There is a nice video on YouTube about HFCS you may want to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JhxXp_P3H0
      Thank you again!

  2. I realized more new things on this fat reduction issue. One particular issue is a good nutrition is tremendously vital
any time dieting. A massive reduction in junk food, sugary meals, fried foods, sweet foods, pork, and white-colored flour products may be necessary. Retaining wastes organisms, and toxic compounds may prevent ambitions for fat-loss. While particular drugs momentarily solve the condition, the unpleasant side effects are certainly not worth it, and in addition they never offer you more than a momentary solution.

It’s a known that 95% of fad diets fail. Many thanks sharing your ideas on this blog.
